Happy Sunday morning! It's the day before Christmas, and before attending the 11:00 morning Sunday Mass, hubby and I decided to have brunch at Pallet Coffee Roasters.
Hubby chose cortado and the Grand Italian Sandwich, while I decided on avocado toast and the seasonal Bourbon Maple Hot Chocolate.

The Bourbon Maple Hot Chocolate is an indulgent beverage. Hot chocolate's rich, velvety goodness is married to the warm, smoky undertones of bourbon and the natural sweetness of maple syrup.

I chose the avocado toast because I love the creamy, buttery texture of the smashed avocado. It serves as a luscious base, complemented by the tangy richness of goat cheese. The burst of flavour from the juicy cherry tomatoes adds a refreshing contrast, while the mixed greens contribute a crisp and vibrant element. The crowning glory, a meticulously cooked egg with a runny yolk, drapes the ensemble in velvety goodness, creating a luxurious and indulgent finish.

Lastly, the Grand Italian Sandwich is a flavour-packed culinary delight that pays homage to the rich and diverse tastes of Italy. This gourmet creation features a foundation of artisan ciabatta bread, providing a sturdy yet airy canvas for the symphony of ingredients that follow. The sandwich is generously slathered with a zesty pesto mayo, infusing each bite with a burst of herby goodness. Layers of creamy mozzarella add a luscious texture, while the spicy capicollo provides a bold and savoury kick reminiscent of the robust flavours of Italian cured meats. The peppery arugula contributes a fresh and vibrant element, balancing the richness of the sandwich. To crown this masterpiece, two fried eggs with perfectly runny yolks create a luxurious and satisfying finish.

I am filled with regret because we have been going to a Church a couple blocks from here and have always chosen the Blenz across the street. Next time, Pallet will be my first choice. Yum!
