It's a cold and rainy Friday evening. We waited an hour under the rain for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery.
I wanted a bowl of ramen for comfort. Jinya has a long line, so we decided to walk east along Robson Street for Maruhachi Ra-Men. It's our first time here, and I now understand why my brother loves this spot.
Cha-Shu Tamago Ramen from Maruhachi Ra-Men Creamy chicken broth, soft-boiled egg (soy & pork based), extra pork shoulder chashu, aosa seaweed, green onion. Served with thin noodles. |
My husband chose the Cha-Shu Tamago Ramen while I went for the spicy Aka Ramen. The broth is creamier than other ramen spots, yet it does not feel heavy.
We also got extra cha-shu for the Aka Ramen because why not? Meanwhile, the gyoza is standard.
I will be back for more ramen from this place. Although, I am now craving the chicken karaage from Ramen Gojiro.
