Happy New Year! It's the first day of 2024, and for brunch, we went to Earls, where we got to try the latest sensation – the Crab Cake Benedict! Imagine a brunch delight beyond the ordinary, where a sumptuous crabcake takes center stage instead of the traditional English muffin.
Each crabcake is crafted to perfection, featuring succulent crab meat seasoned and formed into a delightful patty. The result? A crispy exterior that gives way to a tender and flavorful interior.

As if the crabcake alone wasn't enough to tantalize your taste buds, Earls elevates the dish further with perfectly poached eggs, succulent prawns, and a velvety hollandaise sauce. The poached eggs bring a rich and creamy texture, while the prawns add a delightful seafood twist that complements the crab cake beautifully. The hollandaise sauce ties everything together, creating a symphony of flavours that dance on your palate with each bite.
To complete this culinary masterpiece, Earls serves the Crab Cake Benedict with two exceptional sides – Potato Pave and Spring Greens. The Potato Pave, a meticulously layered and baked potato dish, adds a touch of sophistication to the meal. Meanwhile, the vibrant Spring Greens provide a refreshing contrast, ensuring a well-balanced and satisfying brunch experience.
New & Notable: Molten Gingerbread Cake from Earls White chocolate ganache, gingerbread cookie crumble, apples, and vanilla ice cream. |
Since I went the brunch route, my husband ordered the Filet + Peppercorn from the New & Notable menu. It is your classic filet steak topped with savoury peppercorn gravy. The sides are with the usual garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
