Signature BBQ Duck on Rice Noodle Soup from Chinatown BBQ |
The aroma emanating from Chinatown BBQ instantly drew us in. And oh, the Roast BBQ Duck Noodle Soup did not disappoint! As described, the immediacy and aroma of freshly roasted duck were undeniable. The crispy skin crackled with each bite, revealing juicy, flavorful meat that infused the clean broth with an irresistible savoury depth. The slippery rice noodles, generously coated in duck fat, were perfect for soaking up all that deliciousness.
While my Filipino side whispered a preference for rice over noodles, it was a minor detail in the face of such culinary excellence.
BBQ Meat Chef Platter
We have only tried one other Chinese BBQ place: HK BBQ Master, so we ordered the same thing today as part of their BBQ Meat Chef Platter. This carnivore's dream featured Honey-Glazed BBQ Pork, a Roasted Rack of Crispy Pork, and Soy-Sauce Chicken.
While the Honey Glazed Pork couldn't dethrone the HK BBQ Master in Richmond in our hearts, it was still a solid contender with its sweet, sticky glaze.
Signature Three BBQ Meat Chef Platter from Chinatown BBQ Honey Glazed BBQ Pork, Roasted Rack of Crispy Pork, and Soy Sauce Chicken |
But the star of the platter was undoubtedly the Roasted Rack of Crispy Pork. The crisp, crackling skin yielding to melt-in-your-mouth meat, each bites an explosion of savoury goodness.
While not eliciting strong personal opinions, the soy sauce chicken still played a role. Its light, subtle flavours offered a welcome contrast to the richness of the duck and broth, making it a harmonious combination.
Stay tuned for the next chapter of our Taste of Chinatown journey, where we'll continue sharing our discoveries and delights. Food is meant to be savoured and shared, so join us on this delicious exploration of Vancouver's vibrant Chinatown!
