After work today, I hopped on a different bus for a more direct route to church for Ash Wednesday Mass. Midway through the ride, hunger pangs. When I got off the bus, I spotted La Ruota Pizza. I couldn't resist the chance for a quick pre-church refuel.
Since it's a day of abstinence, I opted for the vegetarian Patate Gorgonzola. Extra virgin olive oil, creamy fior di latte, pungent gorgonzola, rich grana padano, earthy baked potatoes, and sweet caramelized onions – how could I say no? The anticipation grew as I held the perfectly charred, thin-crust slice in my hands.

And let me tell you, the first bite was pure revelation. The crust was blistered, offering a delightful textural contrast to the smooth cheeses and creamy potatoes. The gorgonzola's sharp bite was beautifully balanced by the sweetness of the onions, creating a flavour symphony in every mouthful.
Feeling recharged, we walked to church and attended Ash Wednesday Mass. A reminder that life is beautiful and God has blessed us miraculously, even if sometimes we don't deserve it.
