Happy Lunar New Year! This year, my husband and I embarked on a delicious adventure to Vancouver's Chinatown, immersing ourselves in the vibrant sights, sounds, and, of course, tastes of this historic neighbourhood. Our journey began with a refreshing 4-kilometre walk from South Granville, leading us to the heart of the festivities: Taste of Chinatown!
This three-day extravaganza celebrates the Lunar New Year by focusing on the rich and diverse heritage of Vancouver's Chinatown. As foodies, we couldn't resist kicking off our exploration at the Chinatown Storytelling Centre's specialty food items pop-up.

Our first bite was a flavour explosion with the BBQ Pork Poptart. This unique collaboration between Chinatown BBQ and Kiko Nakata of Tall Shadow Bakery was a delightful fusion of cultures.

Next, we indulged in the AAA Beef Brisket Curry Cheese Croissant by Beaucoup Bakery and Chinatown BBQ. This decadent creation showcased the perfect marriage of sweet and savoury. Imagine a buttery, curry-infused croissant pastry holding tender, flavorful Chinatown BBQ curry AAA beef brisket. A gooey layer of fresh mozzarella melted beautifully with cheddar and gruyere cheese, taking the experience to a whole new level.
