For the third month in a row (see April and May visits), Mexican cuisine has been chosen as theme for the company-paid team lunch. As usual, we braved the happy crowds at our favourite Patrón Tacos and Cantina!
I opted for the Garlic Mushroom Huaraches. These open-sandal shaped corn tortillas, originally from central and southern Mexico, are a popular street food Huaraches are typically topped with meats, vegetables, cheese, and salsa. Mine featured a generous portion of garlic mushrooms. While the mushrooms themselves were a touch mild, they were beautifully complemented by the fluffy, pillowy corn dough base. A dollop of refried beans added a creamy, savory element, making each bite a textural and flavorful delight.

To add a touch of brightness and acidity, I reached for their salsa verde. This tomatillo-based salsa is a vibrant green with a hint of spice, perfect for balancing the richness of the dish. Patrón's salsa verde always hits the spot.
